Marion "Sam" Stevenson

Marion Samuel "Sam" Stevenson, 61, of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, February 17th in a local hospital.

He was a graduate of St. Ann's High School and Paul Quinn University, a veteran of the Navy, and a truck driver, loved rock and roll music and playing the drums.

There will be no public viewing. The body was cremated. A memorial graveside service will be held at Fort Smith National Cemetery, Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents,and two brothers: Jerry and Jarvis Stevenson.

Survivors are three sons: Baron, Brian and Brandon Stevenson all of Little Rock; his ex-wife, Natalie Stevenson of Little Rock; four sisters: Patricia Wheat of Brooklyn, NY, Margaret Washington, Paula Releford (Billy Joe) and Anntionette Lofton (Arthur) all of Fort Smith; four brothers: John of Vancouver, WA, Daniel Paul "Vic" of Portland, OR, Micheal (Debra) of Fort Smith, and Malcom of Vian, OK; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at 3612 South 95th Circle.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rowell-Parish Mortuary.
