In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Martin Family. Walter's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Walter William Martin.

Walter William (Bill) Martin (90) was born on June 2, 1934, in Lawnside, New Jersey to the late Evelyn Mosley and the late William Martin. Bill, as known by friends, family and acquaintances, transitioned from this life on December 12, 2024, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Bill was a fun-loving person who enjoyed sharing his stories, true or not. He spent 23 years in the United States Air Force and worked years in Security. Bill’s fun was spending time at Stephens Boys and Girls Club in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing and hunting when his health allowed. Bill enjoyed sharing with others on “how to” do so many things, even though he may have not done any of them, but that was Bill having fun. Bill recently said he had lived a happy, beautiful life and that was enough for him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a son Roy Martin, one sister Brenda, and a granddaughter Don’Jea.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Yvonne, two (2) daughters Kesia Martin and Kelly Martin. Eleven (11) grandchildren, Elijah, Jaya, Porsha, D’Mondo, Kalief and Donis all of Sacramento, California; Tia of Killeen, Texas; Tashay of Boise, Idaho; and Ciara of Greenville, South Carolina. He also leaves two (2) sisters, Joyce and Nora of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and two (2) brothers, William and Anthony of Savannah, Georgia.
And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Memorial Celebration of life will be held Saturday December 21, 2024; 11:00 am New Covenant International Christian Center 4400 North N St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
Burial and final resting place will be held on Thursday January 9, 2025; 1:30pm Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Road; Dixon, California.
