Tylena's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Tylena Wright.

Tylena Shawntel Adams-Wright was a remarkable woman whose life reflected faith, dedication, and unwavering love for others. She was born on October 29, 1980, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Curtis B. Adams, Jr. (Kimberly) and Tycene Adams. Tylena passed away on December 30, 2025, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Tylena leaves a wonderful legacy through her children, Talaysia, Xavier, and Aariah, whom she shared with her best friend and their father, Lee Wright III.
Tylena enjoyed her younger years with family, friends, and classmates while attending Morrilton Middle School in Morrilton, Arkansas. She was a 1999 honors graduate of Northside High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Tylena earned multiple professional certifications, including Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Phlebotomist, Licensed Cosmetologist, and Certified Mental Health Life Coach. She also obtained an associate degree from the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton. Tylena dedicated more than twenty years to the medical field, serving not only as a healthcare professional but also as a life coach, offering guidance, encouragement, and hope to those seeking direction and healing.
As a young child, Tylena was a proud member of Spring Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton, Arkansas, where she served as an usher and sang in the choir. During her time in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she became an active member of King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church and continued singing in the choir. Her faith remained central to her life and continued to shape her character and service to others. After moving to Conway, Arkansas, she united with Mt. Gale Missionary Baptist Church. As a great-spirited member, she was always willing to help in whatever capacity she could.
Tylena often spoke with gratitude about the profound impact of those who nurtured and supported her along life’s journey. She held deep affection for the many mothers whose maternal influence and steadfast encouragement played a significant role in her growth and development.
Known for her warm spirit, Tylena genuinely enjoyed socializing with family and friends and was especially fond of bringing people together around the grill. She was a self-proclaimed Grill Master. Her radiant smile, uplifting words, and consistent encouragement left a lasting impression on all who encountered her. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister, whose conversations most often concluded with her heartfelt words, “I love you.”
Tylena was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Ycenea Adams. She leaves to cherish her memory her three precious children, Talaysia, Xavier, and Aariah Wright, all of Conway, Arkansas; her mother, Tycene Newsome Adams of Morrilton, Arkansas; her father, Curtis B. Adams, Jr. (Kimberly) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, TyRena Massey (Andre Sr.) of Roland, Oklahoma, and Tykayla Adams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Curtis Neal-Adams III (Torian) of Austin, Texas, and Cameron J. W. Adams (MJ) of Houston, Texas; nieces and nephews, Ke’Leah Massey, Andre (DJ) Massey Jr., Arriyanah Chatman, Jayla Jackson, Carl “CJ” Jackson, Leonardo Neal-Adams, Donatello Neal-Adams, and EJ Neal-Adams; two brothers at heart, Louis Lovell Ross and Jason Jackson; cherished uncles, Harold “Jeff” Newsome Jr. (Mary) and Cornell “Tadpole” Newsome (Carol), both of Morrilton, Arkansas; a grandmother at heart, Ernestine Dixon; bonus parents, Lee Wright Jr., Marcia Wright, John Hughes (Diane), and Lee Massey (Virginia); a very special friend, Lee Wright III; a bonus son, Derric Parson; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and treasured friends.
Tylena Shawntel Adams-Wright’s life was a testament to faith, service, and love. Her legacy will continue to live on through the lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.
Memorial celebration of life will be held Friday, January 9, 2026, at 4:00 pm at Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 1301 N. 13th St, Ft. Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, 1:00 pm at Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce St, Conway, Arkansas 72032.
