In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Wise family. Nellie’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Nellie Don Enoch Wise.

Nellie Don Enoch Wise was truly a gift from God on Wednesday, March 22, 1939 to the late Frank and Lucille (Taylor) Enoch in Dardanelle, Arkansas. She was as well called by God to take her heavenly rest on Sunday, May 1, 2022 Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Lathel Wise, Sr., a daughter: Martha Brant; a step-daughter: Vicki Wise; a step-son: Roderick Wise; five brothers: Jimmy, Freddie, Barry Lynn, Richard, and Michael Enoch; two sisters: Doloris Browner and Frankie Perkins and a grandson: Brandon McKinney.

Nellie accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was a faithful soldier in the army of the LORD. She was also a faithful member at Mount Triumph Missionary Baptist Church in Spiro, Oklahoma until her health failed her. She attended the Dardanelle Elementary Schools for eight years and then she graduated from Sullivan High School in Morrilton, Arkansas. She worked as a private caregiver for two families: the Crain and Walker families until she retired.

Nellie leaves to forever cherished and remembered by her two sons: James Enoch and John Wise both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her three daughters: Donna McKinney, Mary Callans and Paula Enoch; her five step-sons: Leonard (Paula) Perkins, Randy Wise, and Anthony Tucker all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Lathel (Terri) Wise II of Saginaw, Michigan and Keith (Alice) Wilson of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her three step-daughters: Maria Wise, Latrelle Arnold and Charlotte Welch all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her grandchildren: Michael Enoch, Latress Sutton, Jason Enoch, Tasha Bailey, Myron McKinney, Beverly Callans, Christopher Hopkins, Marilyn Meadows, Brandie Francis, Sherrall Tyree, Joshua Enoch, Kevin Shepherd, Darryl Shepherd, Lashawna Wise, Shevonda Harris, Roderick Wise Jr, Angie Wise, Lathel Wise III, Devante Wise, Misako Buckley; her four siblings: Archie (Adora) Enoch of Dayton, Ohio; Robert (Livee) Enoch of Saginaw, Michigan; Martha Thompson of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Beverly Wells of Stone Mountain, Georgia; her four god-daughters: Cathee Crain, Lisa Crain, Marillyn (Mimi) Crain Brody and Kristain Snell Crain and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1 p.m. at New Covenant International Christian Center 4400 North N Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.


Committal service and final resting place will be at the Forest Park Cemetery Fort Smith, Arkansas.
