In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Fegans family. Mary’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Mary Cole Fegans.

On Wednesday, January 12, 1949, Mary Luella Cole Fegans was born to the proud parents of Dewey and Helen (May) Cole in Dardanelle, Arkansas. The family relocated to Fort Smith, Arkansas and united with First Missionary Baptist Church where Mary accepted Christ at an early age. She attended the Fort Smith Public Schools: Howard Elementary, Lincoln High and Northside High Schools where she excelled in reading and spelling.
After graduating from high school, she held various positions for prominent companies in the area. On Saturday, December 24, 1994, Mary married her soulmate of 29 years, Marshall Fegans. Together they shared a life of love and companionship. The two served as faithful members of the Usher Board until her health declined. Mary had a warm, caring heart, and a wonderful sense of humor.
Mary transitioned from this life into her eternal rest on Good Friday, April 7, 2023. Mary’s father: Dewey Cole; mother: Helen (May) Cole, and sister: Carolyn Clemons proceeded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory, Marshall, her loving husband; sister: Helen Bobo; brother: James Earl Cole (Brenda), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Walk-through visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church 3110 Kelley Highway Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
Committal service and final resting place will be at Oak Cemetery Fort Smith, Arkansas.
