In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Harris and Carroll families. Linda’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Linda Harris-Carroll.

On Tuesday, March 1, 2023, at 2:05pm Linda Beatrice Harris Carroll of North Little Rock went home to be with the Lord at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, Arkansas. Linda was born in Little Rock to the late Clark Harris Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Harris Brown. Sons Dexter Harris, Arsenio Harris, and Marcus Carroll preceded her in death.
Siblings: The late James Harris Sr., the late Willie B. Harris, the late Ruthie Jean Harris-Hurt, the late Jessie Mae Tyler, the late Clark Harris, Jr, the late Billy Harris, and the late John Harris also preceded her in death.
Linda and James Carroll Sr. were together for 33 years. They married on March 21, 1997 and would have celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary this year.
Linda was everything to all people. She could relate on any level yet command a room. She was baby sister, the home girl, the life of the party, and certainly the auntie who “don’t play that”. Linda was full of love and expressed it everywhere she went. She was such a giver who never expected anything in return.
Linda graduated from Lonoke High School in 1985. She was involved in sports including women’s basketball. She later attended Eastern College Vocational School. She worked for various companies including Democrat Printing & Lithographing in Little Rock. She was a lover of all genres of music, loved to dance and entertain. However, Linda was most passionate about her cooking and ensuring all was feed.
Her pride and joy will always be her baby girl, LinCola. She loved her so much. Her daughter changed her life and meant the world to her. Their close bond was such a good example of a mother-daughter relationship.
She was the baby sister of the family. Linda was involved in the lives of all her siblings. Linda was the favorite Auntie. She loved on all her nieces and nephews including their friends. She made everyone feel like “family”. This also included taking in family members, when needed. Linda was certainly always there.
Another role Linda was able to enjoy was being “Granny Sue”. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She demonstrated the same love to other children who also called her “Granny Sue”.
She accepted Christ at an early age at the Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor George Barnes. Later in life, Linda united with the Belle Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lonoke. She joined under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth Parker Sr. Linda was a faithful member up until her illness. When she was unable to attend services or before sunrise, she also faithful watched Pastor Charles Stanley on television. This was very important to her, and she would share often what was learned with those who would willingly listen.
She battled her illness for a long time. In the end, she spent sixty-three (63) days in the hospital fighting for life with strength, determination, grace, and purpose. She was in coma for several months. However, GOD made a way for Linda to open her eyes and even speak life.
In the natural eye, it was evident that she was making some improvements to perhaps come home soon in a few months. In the spiritual realm, GOD had preparations to get Linda ready to go to her forever home in glory.
She leaves to mourn her loving husband, James Carroll, Sr. (North Little Rock), her beautiful daughter, LinCola Harris (Dallas, TX), her bonus children James Carroll Jr. (Laraine Carroll) and Kristy Jones Carroll (Lamont Jones) of Lonoke. She leaves three sisters Barbara Heard of North Little Rock, Clara Dixon of Scott, Margret Cogshell (Sammie) of North Little Rock, Sarah Banks of North Little Rock, and Helene Collins Jones (John) of West Helena. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, 11:00am at St. Matthew Church of God In Christ, 4801 E. Broadway St., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117.
Homegoing Celebration Party will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at The Billion Event Center, 815 Main St., Little Rock, Arkansas 7220.1
