Josie Anginette Reynolds was born on October 28, 1968, to the late Louis Sr., and Doreatha Jackson in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was the youngest of six (6) children. Josie attended Fort Smith Public Schools at Howard Elementary, Darby Jr. High and Northside High School where she was a proud member of the Class of 1987.  She worked at Fort Smith Industrial for twenty-four (24) years and later as the head cook at The Waters of Fort Smith Nursing Home, after which she retired due to illness.

Josie had a vibrant spirit and a love for life that touched everyone she met. She found joy in cooking, filling her home and family gatherings with the comfort of good food. She especially cherished Sunday dinners with her son, his wife, her neighbors, and her beloved grandchildren.

Known as the life of the party, Josie could brighten any room with music, dance, laughter, and her unforgettable “crazy talking.”  She loved the camera and was always ready to strike a pose and seize the moment. Her lively personality made her truly unforgettable, and her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family.  Most importantly, Josie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior four (4) years ago, and she worked faithfully to ready herself to be present with Him. For this, we say with much joy, “Let us Rejoice”.

Josie married Michael Eugene Reynolds and from this union, two (2) children were born. One (1) son Michael Eugene Reynolds, Jr., (Mister) who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one (1) sibling: Bobby Dean Salter from Pacolet, South Carolina.

She is survived by her siblings: Helen Elaine Gordan, Louis Jackson, Jr., James Edward Jackson, and LaTrel Yvette (Hubert) Copeland all of Fort Smith, AR. Sister-in-law: Christine Salter of Pacolet, South Carolina.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one (1) son: Joshua Michael Louis Eugene Reynolds (Kember) of Fort Smith; nine (9) grandchildren: JaNiya, DaShawn, Bree’Auna, Korda, Jaiedis, Aaliyah, Lyric, Mercedes, and Jahsiah (the joy of her life). She is also remembered fondly by a truly dear friend, Gary Smith.

Josie also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great –nieces, great-nephews, and many loving family members and friends.

Walk through visitation for family and friends will be Friday September 19, 2025; 9:00am to 6:00pm Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.

Celebration of life service will be Saturday September 20, 2025; 11:00am First Church of God in Christ 2037 North 14th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
