In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Woods Family. John's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of John Woods.

John Andrew Woods, Jr., was born on July 19, 1956 in Heidelberg, Germany to the late John Woods, Sr., and Dorothy Woods. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kristal Woods and his son John Woods, III.
John attended grade school in Fort Smith, Arkansas and graduated high school in Danville, Illinois in 1974. Afterwards, he went on to join the US Navy. He worked for the City of Fort Smith for 30 years, before retiring in 2018. John met Charlette; they fell in love and married in 2014. He was a family man, who loved his kids, grandchildren and his entire family very dearly. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting.
John leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Charlette Woods, Four (4) Stepdaughters: Lottie Lofton, Shawnta Brewer and Montoiya Owens all of Fort Smith, Ar., and Natasha Brewer-Lewis (Tetrick) of St. Louis, Missouri. Two (2) grandchildren: Nia Gordon-Woods and Javonte Barnum both of Fort Smith, Ar., and one (1) great grandchild, Nakarii Travell. Three (3) sisters: Mary Alice Woods-McDonald, DeLinda (Charles) Craine and Twquina Diann Merriweather. One (1) brother: Mark Woods.
Along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Walk-thru visitation will be Thursday, July 13, 2023 11-5pm at Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel, 611 North 9th Street; Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Celebration of life service will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 11:00am at New Covenant International Christian Center;
4400 North N Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
