In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Alston Family. Jakezni's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Jakezni Alston.

Jakezni Gabrielle Alston, 23, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, was called home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2025. She was born on April 24, 2002, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Jakezni, lovingly known as “Nini” or “Girlfriend” was a bright light, whose presence could fill any room. She was an aspiring Nail Technician and a gifted cook—no pasta dish ever stood a chance against her talent. Most importantly, Jakezni was a devoted Mother, who dedicated her life to loving and nurturing her four (4) beautiful children. Her generous spirit, warm smile, and boundless heart touched everyone she met.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four (4) children; King, Princeton, Marije’ and Cadance. Her loving Mother: Elizabeth Mahdi; her father; An-Nas Mahdi; Maternal Grandmother: Mae Moore; Paternal Grandmother: Denise Wingfield; three (3) Brothers: Marcus May, Michael Alston II and Jakobi Alston. Three (3) Sisters: Shanies Alston, Mechella Alston and Jakiya Moore.
Along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will carry her legacy forward.
Walk through visitation for family and friends will be Friday August 22, 2025, 10:00am to 7:00pm Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be Saturday August 23, 2025, 2:00pm Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church 1023 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
