Gloria Yvonne Payne Bynum was born September 28, 1962 to Reverend James A. Payne & Jerlean Hart Payne in Morrilton, Arkansas. She departed this life on February 11, 2026 @ Baptist Health hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by family and loved ones.

She attended Eastside School in Menifee, Arkansas and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1980 that consolidated with Morrilton High her senior year during a time of much adversity. She later attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Arkansas and Petit Jean Vocational Technical College in Morrilton, Arkansas.

She confessed her love for Christ at an early age. She sang in the choir for many years at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and with the Middle Western District choir. She also co-founded a local gospel group within the Central Arkansas Choir and Quartet Union originally named Spiritual Wonders then later New Voices Gospel Singers. She traveled and sang beautifully with the group for at least 29 years.

Gloria worked many years within multiple factories and customer service locations meeting and accepting new people and friends that she adopted into her heart and extended family.

As one of the family historians of her family's generation, Gloria aka Glory aka Glo became a bridge that reached many family members near and far. Learning family history from elder family members throughout the years she continues her legacy of love and family roots by passing the torch on to all of us now. She taught us to live, love, be true to yourself, and learn where you come from.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Payne and Jerlean Payne, her brother Anthony Wayne Payne, her grandparents Charlie Payne and Dovie Johnson Payne & Andrew Hart and Rachel Hanna Hart & ex-husband Robert Craig Bynum.
