In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Toney family. Alvin’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Alvin Toney.

Alvin Van Toney of Plumerville passed away on March 2, 2023, born April 14, 1963 to the late Albert and Mae Hellen Toney in Morrilton, Arkansas. At a young age, Van dedicated his life to Christ at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Plumerville, Arkansas. He grew up in Springfield with his siblings, working on the family farm, having fun with cousins and neighborhood friends, riding horses and fishing. Van had a deep love for fishing. He would always be somewhere on a creek or pond.


Van attended East Side High School in Menifee, Arkansas. Van worked many years at Covington's Roofing Company alon side his brother "Pete" who was his boss. Van would come home from work and say, "Pete tried to work me to death."


Van was preceded in death by both parents, Albert and Mae Hellen Toney and one brother, Tommy Gomillion.


Van leaves to cherish his memory, his son Van Alan Toney; two daughters, Jada Toney, Vannisha Toney; five brothers, Albert Toney, Herbert Toney, Carl Gomillion, Bobby Evans, Tommy Evans; three sisters, Vicki Davis, Barbara Cooney, Mary Canady; sister-in-law Charlotte Gomillion; four grand children; a long time friend who always had unconditional love, Charles Ray Kindle and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.


Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held, Friday, March 10, 2023 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, 11:00am at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 105 Arnold St., Plumerville, Arkansas.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Plumerville, Arkansas.
