In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Gordon family. Tamara's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Tamara Gordon.

Tamara Anika Gordon, affectionately know to family and friends as "Nykki" was born to Frank Gordon (deceased) and Verdean Jackson, on September 10, 1975 in Mansfield, Ohio. Nykki grew up in Helena, Arkansas but graduated from Central High School, in West Helena, Arkansas. After high school, Nykki moved to Conway, Arkansas and later moved to Russellville, Arkansas. Nykki was employeed by Wayne Farms, Daneville, Arkansas, until her passing. A vocation that she enjoyed and cared for the people she worked with.


Nykki, loved people. She had a huge love for children. She was fondly called “TEE-TEE” by her many nieces and nephews. Nykki loved scents, perfumes and scented candles. She also loved movies, plays and music. Tyler Perry, her all time favorite... ”if he did it, she was on it”. Her taste in music was “eclectic”. She loved to explore cooking... she collected cook books and recipes.


Nykki leaves to cherish her loving memory, parents, Rev. Dr. Verdean (Rev. Dr. Joseph L.) Gueste of Beaumont, California; one brother, Antonio A. Chandler of Russellville, Arkansas; two sisters, Michelle L. Chandler of West Helena, Arkansas, Quinn L (Ray) Broadus of Russellville, Arkansas; aunts, Annette L. Hawkins of West Helena, Arkansas, Linda J. Davis of Los Angeles, California, Darnell (Ervin) Pugh of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lillian Leach of West Helena, Arkansas, Adell Saulsberry of Memphis, Tennessee, Francine (Bill) Williams of Russellville, Arkansas, Marilyn K. (Tony) Pillow of Russellville, Arkansas, Mavis C. Neal of Russellville, Arkansas; uncles, Arthur (Phyllis) Neal, Jr. of Russellville, Arkansas, Karl (Marcia) Neal of Oak Harbor, Washington, Darron Neal of Russellville, Arkansas, and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


Visitation will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 from 5pm-7pm at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 321 South Houston Place, Russellville, Arkansas 72801. Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018, 11:00am at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 321 South Houston Place, Russellville, Arkansas 72801.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 2500 S. Knoxville Ave., Russellville, Arkansas 72802.
