In profound sadness, the staff of Rowell-Parish Mortuary want to express our sincere condolences to the Johnson-Hogue family. Doris's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Doris Johnson-Hogue.

Doris F. Hutchison Johnson-Hogue was born March 21, 1933 to John Ellis and Golda Hooper Hutchison in Huntington, Arkansas. She was married to the late Joe Johnson for over 54 years. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Charles, Bruce, William, and Melvin Hutchison. Mrs. Hogue attended grade schools in Huntington, Arkansas, Waukegan, Illinois, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She later attended College of Lake County in Illinois and Westark Community College in Fort Smith. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Siani Baptist Church in Illinois. She later moved and became faithful members of King Solomon Baptist Church and Northside Church of God In Christ in Fort Smith. She was involved in several organizations at her place of employment and churches she attended. Doris was employed for many years by the Department of Defense, Great Lakes, Illinois, ABF, Fort Chaffee, and H&R Block before returning to Arkansas in 1972. Doris leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband Clarence; three sons, Johnny (Evelyn), Larry, and Donald Johnson; one daughter, Gerri (Clifford) Grandberry; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three sisters, Corene, Carolyn, and Karen all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, the Adams family and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Rowell-Parish Mortuary.

Celebration of life services will be held, Saturday, April 15, 2017, 11:00am at Northside Church of God In Christ, 4420 Kelley Hwy. Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904. Interment will be held at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11:00am.
