In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Hampton family. Lee Andrew's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Lee Andrew Hampton.

Lee Andrew Hampton was born September 30, 1923 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Frank and Donia Bunting Hampton, Sr. He was the eldest of three children. Lee accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age. In 1941, Lee enlisted into the Army at age 17 during WWII and served until 1945. After the war, he moved to the East Coast where he worked for the New York City Port Authority as a bus driver until he retired. After retiring in 2001, he returned to Conway where he united in marriage to Ms. Maxine Cole. Lee was very benevolent, loved family, friends and knew no strangers. He was a natural comedian who made everyone laugh. His loving wife Maxine was not only a wife, but also his best friend and was an amazing caregiver who took the utmost care of him. Lee's Earthly soul transcended to the Heavens on Thursday, December 1, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Hampton-Cox and Ms. Bertha Sue Smith, (Wanda's mom). He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Maxine Cole-Hampton of Conway, Arkansas; three sons, Demetrius (Markiba) Cole, Eric Morris, both of Conway, Arkansas, Micheal Morris of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four daughters, Wanda Nedra DeNice-Bryant-Thomas of Evans, Georgia; Virginia Hampton of Chicago, Illinois; Sharon (Cleveland) Smith of Conway, Arkansas, Tracy (Will) Waters of Saganaw, Michigan; one brother, Frank (Margaret) Hampton, Jr. of Jackson, Michigan; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; seven nephews Lyle (Stacie) Hampton, Frank (Cherise) Hampton III, Basil (Mia) Hampton, Haywood (Cheri) Hampton, Quentin (Diane) Hampton, Lee (Melinda) Hampton, Sam (Luvenia) Cox all of Jackson, Michigan; five nieces, Massena Hampton, Annita Hampton, Beatrice Hampton, Camilla (Maurice) Burton, LaDonna Lewis all of Jackson, Michigan; two special friends, David Kendrick, Earl Gene Dickerson and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held, Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 6pm-7pm at Veasley Funeral Home, 1111 Harkrider St., Conway, Arkansas 72032. Funeral service will be held Friday, December 9, 2016, 1:00pm at True Holiness Saints Center, 198 Hwy 286 East, Conway, Arkansas 72034. Interment will be held at Robinson Cemetery, 1198 Lincoln St., Conway, Arkansas 72032.
