Ester's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelation 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Ester DuBose Walker, 90, of Conway, was born February 2, 1926, in Abbeville, South Carolina to John DuBose and Anna Thomas. She answered her call to her new home on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Ester professed a hope in Christ Jesus at an early age. She moved to Chicago in the late 40's where she married the late Johnnie M. Walker of Brinkley, Arkansas, A WWII Veteran. To this union four children were born. She was a member of New Philadelphia Baptist Church in Chicago, IL for many years and served on the Usher Board and as the Pastor's Nurse. She later moved to Florida after her husband passed away. There she provided live in home care for the aged and seriously ill. Mrs. Ester modeled for Jet Magazine in the early 50's and has also worked as a teachers' aid for the Chicago Public School District. Mrs. Ester moved to Conway, Arkansas with her daughter Felicia and son-in-law Anthony Wayne Hoskins in 2008. She united with the Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church where she remained faithful in her attendance until the Lord called her from work to reward. She also had eight sisters and eight brothers precede her in death. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, three sons, Phillip (Patricia) Walker of St. Petersburg, FL., Johnnie (Ashley) Walker of Umatilla, FL., Tarrinson Walker of Tampa, FL., Fontaine (Dalan) Jones of Tampa, FL.; and daughter, Felicia (Anthony Wayne) Walker-Hoskins of Conway, AR.; one brother, Johnny Bishop DuBose of Toccoa, GA.; two sisters, Sally Starks of Decatur, GA., Edna Smith of Lithonia, GA.; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; favorite sister-in-law, the late Viola Turner of Flint, MI.; the Walker family of Allegan, MI., and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Public viewing will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016, 1:00pm at Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, 601 Spruce St. Conway, AR. 72032. Rev. Artee Williams, Pastor/Officiating Interment will be held at Robinson Cemetery, Conway, AR. immediately following funeral service.
