Carl David Howard, 69, of Conway, Arkansas passed away September 14, 2015. He was born September 11, 1946 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Luther Howard, Sr. and Mrs. Hazel McFarlin-Howard-Perry. He was the second of four children born to this union. He received his formal education through the former Pine Street School System located in Conway, AR.


Carl David professed his hope in Christ at an early age at Union Baptist Church in Conway, AR. He enlisted in the United States Navy on July 10, 1964 serving through February 1, 1967, becoming a veteran of the Vietnam War. He later relocated to Detroit, Michigan where he worked for Chrysler Motor Company. Due to his health conditions, he later returned to Arkansas.


Carl David was married to Shirley Acklin-May and to this union one son was born, Donald Lavell Howard. Later, he was married to Kathy Macon Heaggans in which another son was born, Harvell Lamont Howard. Carl David loved spending time with his family; playing spades, dominoes and chess; and listening to “oldies but goodies.”


He leaves to cherish his loving memory his mother and stepfather, Hazel and Lehmin Perry of Conway, AR; three brothers, Luther Howard, Jr. (Terry) of Detroit, MI; Albert Howard of Conway, AR; Jerry Perry (Betty) of Conway, AR; and one sister, Rosemary Cummings (John) of Conway, AR.; three step-brothers, Jerry, Ervin and Carl Thomas all of Russellville, AR.; two sons, Donald Howard (Erma) of Little Rock, AR; and Harvell Howard (Rosa) of Maumelle, AR; three grandchildren, DeIvory Nicole Howard, Devontae Ladarrell Howard, and Harvell Lamont Howard II; four special aunts, Ella McFarlin of Kansas City, KS, Mary McFarlin of Conway, AR., Marzella McFarlin of Merriam, KS., and Betty Howard of Conway, AR; one special niece, Kimberly Howard of DeSoto, TX. and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.


The Howard family will receive friends for public viewing Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 6pm - 7pm at Veasley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 21, 2015, 11:00am at True Holiness Saints Center, 198 Hwy 286 East, Conway, AR. 72032. E.C. Maltbia, Senior Pastor. Interment will be at Sinai Cemetery, Conway, AR. immediatly following funeral service.
