In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Lewis Family. Willie's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Willie Lewis.

Deacon Willie Lee Lewis was born in Crawfordville, Arkansas to the late Arthur Lewis, Sr. and Rosemary Harris Lewis. At a young age, he dedicated his life to Christ while attending school in the Earle School District. His faith remained a guiding light throughout his life.


He was united in marriage to Mary Moore, and together they were blessed with three daughters: Shakeria Lewis, Whitney Lewis, and Elisha (Daryl) Babb. He was also the proud father of his son, James Van, and his daughter, Destiny Lewis.


Deacon Lewis leaves to cherish his loving memory, his children; his brother, Henry (Dora) Lewis; seven grandchildren, Armani, Traedyn, Byron, Jaxson, Dakota, Gerren, and Jazlyn. He also leaves two goddaughters, Shacara (Narada) Smith and Antwanae Lyons, along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lewis, Sr. and Rosemary Harris Lewis; three brothers, Arthur Lewis, Jr., Joe Lewis, and Marvin Lewis; one goddaughter, Kameatra Brown.


Deacon Willie Lee Lewis will always be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for family, and the kindness he shared with everyone he met.


Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Though you have taken your rest, your love and legacy will live on.
