In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Dooley-Robertson family. Vilea’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Vilea Dooley-Robertson.

Vilea Queen Esther Dooley-Robertson gained her heavenly wings on July 3, 2022. She was born to Bishop Holcey and Annie Jones Dooley in Damascus (which is now called Twin Groves, Arkansas on June 20, 1928. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Solomon Grove Baptist Church in Twin Groves, Arkansas. Mother graduated from Northeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan in 1946. On October 11, 1946 she met and married Willie Robertson and to this union 9 children were added; Sophronia (Georgia), Willie Edward, Larry (Delores), Linda, Valeria (Earnett), Ricky, Camille (Dennis), Durand (Bridgett) and Nicole (Ken). While a member at Morning View, mother taught Sunday school under Rev. G.W. Baker. After unity with the Zion Hope Baptist Church under Rev. P.M. Martin. She taught for 50 dedicated years. Under the leadership of Pastor Curtis R. Grant, Zion Hope Baptist Church, Detroit, Michigan, she remained a faithful member until her death.


Those who preceded Mother Vilea in death, her husband, Willie; her eldest daughter, Georgia; her brothers, Leefus, Rayfus (twins), and Holcey, Jr., along with 5 sisters Augusta, Marjorie, Elsie, Jewel, and Wanda.


On a daily routine, Mother always found time to read, meditate, and study God's word. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and wanted to please Him each and everyday. Mother's favorite hobby was keeping her yard and flowers simply immaculate. She loved roses of all colors and her yard displayed them beautifully. She was a strict mother that always had a word from the Lord with wisdom for anybody that was in need. Mother has a very special friend; Mrs. Mary McKinstry whom she conversed with daily while living in her apartment in Detroit, Michigan. They always discussed their children (the good, bad, and the ugly).


Mother Vilea leaves to cherish her memories and legacy to her children; sisters, Arlene (Vernon) Lasker, Thelma (Dan) Moten, Carolin Dooley; brother, Roger (Annie) Dooley; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren and all of the many God-children she mentored.


Mother's favorite scripture was 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people..."


Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022, 11:00am at Solomon Grove Baptist Church, 273 Solomon Grove Rd., Twin Groves, Arkansas.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Solomon Grove Cemetery, Twin Groves, Arkansas.
