In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Hawkins family. Tolly’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Tolly Hawkins.

Tolly S. Hawkins of Menifee, Arkansas, transitioned to be with the Lord on June 25, 2022. He was born on March 24, 1942, in Center Ridge, Arkansas.


Tolly jokingly called himself T.H. saying it meant “tall and handsome.” He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family.


Tolly professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and became a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Center Ridge, Arkansas, where he remained a member until his death. He graduated from Conway County Training School in Menifee in 1961. He worked various jobs but spent most of his career at American Transportation Corporation (better known as AmTran) where he worked for 42 years.


Tolly was preceded in death by his father, T.B. Hawkins and three brothers-in-law: Wilson Swinton, Willie Albert Switzer, and James Criswell.


Tolly leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 30 years, Phillesia Ester Hawkins; mother, Classie Hawkins; nine children, Melvin Hawkins, Timothy (Shunette) Hawkins, Toney (Melissa) Hawkins, Peaches (Gordon) Buchanan, Comeatrieze Ester, Nashara Ester, Shadae Hawkins, Jamie Nelson, Amy (Myron) Tucker; ten siblings, Mertice Swinton, Ella Switzer, Elton (Mary) Hawkins, JP (Lois) Hawkins, Luke (Ruth) Hawkins, Mineal Hawkins, Elcie (Henry) Strickland, Eugene (Lawana) Hawkins, Magdalene (William) Strickland, Virginia (Roger) Oates, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.


Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022, 11:00am at Sweet Home Baptist Church, 6328 AR-9, Center Ridge, Arkansas 72027.
