In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Cravens Family. Ronnie's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ronnie Joe Cravens.

Ronnie Joe Cravens, Sr., was born on August 24, 1952, to the late Margaret Cravens and the late William Cravens in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He departed this life on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at his home.


He attended Fort Smith Public Schools and graduated from Northside High School with the Class of 1970.  He was a former member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee.


Ronnie loved hunting, fishing, golf, motorcycles and horseback riding. He joined the U.S. Navy, where he served in Vietnam. He was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad for eight (8) years and later retired from Owens Corning.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father: William and Margaret Cravens. Daughter: Veronica D. Bell; Son: Ronnie Joe Cravens, Jr., sister: Betty Elaine Nickson; brothers: Melvin Cravens and William Cravens, Jr.


Ronnie leaves to cherish his memories; his wife: Pamela S. Cravens of Fort Smith, Arkansas. One (1) son: Kenneth D. Cravens of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one (1) sister: Sharon Cravens of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Donna (Yusuf) Hasan of Lithonia, Georgia. Seven (7) grandchildren: Zarondrick Z. Racy, Shane Patterson, Jacob Cravens, Kayleigh Evans, Ciera Cravens, Mahriya Cravens and Kyeleigh Cravens. Four (4) great-grandchildren: Zakari Z. Racy, Imani Lilliana Sacco, Amira-Mari Ronnie Joseph and Shanel Cravens. Along with nieces, nephews and friends that will truly miss him.


A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday January 16, 2026; 9:00am to 4:30pm at Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901 followed by a graveside service and burial on Tuesday January 20, 2026, at 11:00am Fort Smith National Cemetery 522 Garland Ave., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
