Phileta's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Phileta Clark Pumphrey was born December 15, 1960, in Little Rock Arkansas. She was a daughter of James A. Williams and Shirley A. Williams who proceeded her in death. Phileta was the oldest child of three children.

Phileta accepted Christ at an early age. She became a member of Greater Second Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Curtis Rideout. Phileta was a faithful member and served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed working with the youth.Â
Phileta received her formal education through the Little Rock School District where she graduated in 1979 from John L McClellan, after graduation she attended UNLV, where she received her master’s degree in Speech Pathology.

Phileta became an educator and remained in her field for several years, spreading her knowledge and love to many youths around Illinois, California, Nevada and Arkansas. She was well known for showing and sharing her knowledge and caring that she loved to do so well.

Phileta was proceeded in death by her mother Shirley A. Williams. Maternal grandmother (Annie Moore); grandfather (Willie B. Oliver); Paternal grandmother (Celeste Williams) and Grandfather Charlie Williams. (Uncle) Tommy Wilson, (Uncle) Carnelius Jurden Wilson, (Uncle) John Wilson, (Aunt) Kielly Wilson, (Aunt) Celeste Donaly.
Phileta leaves to cherish her loving memories, a daughter LaTosha Hampton of Little Rock, Arkansas; father James A. Williams of Keo, Arkansas; two sisters, Katrina Howard of Tifton, Georgia; and Travita Williams-Wilson (Billy Jr.) favorite brother-in -law of Little Rock, Arkansas; one (Uncle) Dock Donaly of Chicago, Illinois; an (Aunt) Lou Coopwood of England, Arkansas; two nieces, Mahagony Strawder (Lorenzo) of Marietta Georgia; Briyunna Wilson of Little Rock, Arkansas; four nephews James Ussery (Lanisha) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Issac Howard, Isreal Hurley both of Tifton, Georgia, Blake Wilson (Sharde) of Dallas, Texas; six great nieces; eight great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, 11:00am.
Both services will be at Pilgrim Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 1821 Wolfe St., Little Rock, Arkansas 72202.
Committal service and final resting place will be held at ElmLawn Cemetery, 5810 W. 12th St., Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
