Kenneth Ray Howard, Jr. (aka Ken) was a gift from God on Wednesday, December 19, 1973 to Linda Cooper in Waco, Texas. He was called to take his heavenly rest on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by one brother: Thomas Wallace, II; two nieces: Jasmine Rogers and Eliora Igwebuike and one nephew: T. J. Igwebuike.
Ken lived in Houston and Austin, Texas area as a child and he grew to become an independent young adult. As much as it was being a struggle to see Ken leave home, it was a blessing to see such a strong young man who had the adversities of down syndrome have the will to want to be his own person. His life showed the world that having a disability does not define you. In 2012, Ken decided to transition back into the home with his mother in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Ken attended church regularly; he believed in and love God. He praised God, day-in and day-out, in season and out of season, touching so many lives along his walk-in life. He leaves behind a family that loves him and will never forget him and the memories that only he could give.
Ken now awaits in heaven for his mother: Rev. Linda Cooper-Igwebuike of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a father to him: John Wesley Washington, Jr. of Bryan, Texas; five siblings: Rev. Teresa Clark (Adrian) of Houston, Texas, Linda Minne’ Wallace of Killeen, Texas, Chelsea Lynn Wallace of Houston, Texas, Thomas Igwebuike (Jessi) of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Johnetta Walker (Gene) of Bryan, Texas; twelve nieces: Mo’Neca Wallace, T’Reena Clark, Aliyah Harper, Julia Wagner, Miracle Rogers, Deijriana Wallace, Deavion Wallace, Eriana Wallace, Jennessa Igwebuike, Jayla Igwebuike, Deshawndra McMillan, and Alexis Walls; eight nephews: Darius Sorrells, Ronnie Clark, Jr., T’Ronn Clark, Jacob Harper, Byran Harper, Ricky Rogers, Chay Wallace and Deshawn McMillan, three great-nieces and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
