Johnny's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Johnny Paul Releford, Sr.

Johnny Paul Releford passed away on April 7th, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born February 1st, 1962, in Crawford County, Arkansas to James Roy Jr. and Fannie Releford he was the oldest of seven children born to the couple. Johnny Releford aka Rooster. He graduated from Northside High School in 1980.
After graduating he worked at CAPCO in Van Buren Arkansas. He decided to go to trucking school to receive his CDL and follow in his fathers’ footsteps and became a truck driver, which he did for the majority of his life. John was a very humble person, and he never met a stranger. He loved his family, and he love helping people. He loved talking about driving those big rigs.
He was preceded in death by his father James Releford Sr., and a daughter Loretta Releford. He leaves to cherish his memory; Three sons: Johnny Releford Jr. Aaron Releford, Marcus Releford; His mother Fannie Releford; Five sisters: Jacqueline Davis (Joseph), Connie Oghorie (Rapheal), Donna Johnson (Rodney), Paula McGill (Rashad), Stephanie McAdams; Five brothers: Ronnie Releford, Alonzo Releford (Zona), James Releford, Jamie Releford, Jason Releford (Martha). 10 grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Walk through visitation for family and friends will be Friday April 18, 2025, 11:00am to 7:00pm (family hour 6-7pm) Rowell-Parish Mortuary Chapel 611 North 9th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday April 19, 2025; 11:00am Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church 910 North 7th St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Committal and final resting place: Beal Cemetery 637 S. Riverbend Road Alma, Arkansas 72921.
