In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Nichols family. Isabella’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Isabella Nichols.

Isabella Whitmore Nichols was a blessing from God on Thursday, July 5, 1923 to the late Samuel and Ethel (Douglas) Whitmore in Van Buren, Arkansas. She was also called by God to take her eternal rest on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is also preceded in death by her husband: Lonnie Nichols, Sr.; her two sons: Charles and Ronnie Nichols.
Isabella accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She served as an Usher up until her health failed. She was a dedicated servant and participated in all functions.
Isabella moved from Dripping Springs, Arkansas to Fort Smith, Arkansas where she met and married Lonnie Nichols, Sr. To their union, was born three girls and three boys. She was a homemaker, domestic worker and worked at Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company until her retirement. Her most passionate hobbies were gardening and working puzzles.
Isabella will be forever remembered and cherished by four children: Ethel Willis, Lonnie Nichols, Jr., Connie (Wyman) Jones and Melinda Nichols; 16 grandchildren: Lendell McGhee, Ramonica Smith, Jamila McGhee, Allen Willis, Kara Willis, Tula Smith, Kanika Webster, Jamar Webster, Michael Marshall, RonLesha Releford, MaKeisha Nichols, Natasha Smith, Phillip Haney, Ishamel Howard, Tiffany Howard and Nathan Howard, several great and great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Public walk-through will be Friday, March 25, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 1 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church 3110 Kelley Highway Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
Committal service and final resting place will be at Dripping Springs Cemetery Uniontown, Arkansas.
