In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Delph family. Homer’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Homer Delph.

Homer Delph was born in Faulkner County, Friendship, Arkansas on June 10, 1936 to the late Earnest and Parthenia Fields Delph. Homer departed this life on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the age of 85. Homer attended Conway County Training School, now known as Eastside High School in Menifee, Arkansas and played on the basketball team. Homer accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Menifee, Arkansas. Homer joined the U.S. Army and served from 1953-1958. Homer met the love of his life Helen Virginia Sullivan in High School, and they married on September 18, 1960 and remained married until his death. Homer was the father to Kasandra Delph, Tony Delph, Mendylin Delph, and Roderick Delph. Homer and Virginia lived most of their lives in Denver, Colorado until they both retired. Homer was an iron worker at General Ironworks in Englewood, Colorado for many years and then went on to work for Conagra in Denver, Colorado until his first retirement around 2006. In 2006, Homer and Virginia moved from Denver to Frisco, Texas. Homer worked for Frisco ISD as a crossing guard for the local elementary school for several years. Homer was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of the Colony, where he served as a greeter until he could no longer serve due to illness.


Homer was preceded in death by one daughter, Kasandra "Sandy" Delph, three brothers, Jefferson Delph, Cecil Delph, Earnest Delph, Jr., and one sister, Mary Osler.


Homer leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 62 years, Helen Virginia Sullivan Delph; one daughter, Mendylin Delph of Denver, Colorado; two sons, Tony (Lajuana) Delph of Little Rock, Arkansas, Roderick E. (Angela) Delph of Carrolton, Texas; one brother, Robert (Joann) Delph of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren; one great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.


Walk through visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 11:00am to 4:30pm at Veasley Funeral Home.


Celebration of life service will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022, 11:00am at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 146 Taylor Circle, Conway, Arkansas 72032. Pastor Tony Byers, Officiating/Eulogist
