In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Wilson family. Harold’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Harold Joe Wilson, Jr.

Harold Joe Wilson, Jr. was a gift from God on Saturday, August 1, 1959 to the late Harold Joe and Wanda Marie (Martin) Wilson, Sr. in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was likewise called by God to take his eternal rest on Thursday, December 8, 2022 also from Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Harold attended Howard Elementary School and finished his education in Oakland, California. He attended Elmhurst Junior High and graduated in 1978 from Castlemont High Schools in Oakland. In high school, he played football, and he was also a wrestler (he lost in the second round of the California State Wrestling Championship). He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Yuba College in Yuba, California. After college, he moved back to Fort Smith.

Harold was employed for over 20 years at WEADA Development Agency in Van Buren, Arkansas for the State of Arkansas. He was truly a hard worker. He married Kimberly Henry, and this union was blessed with a son: Elijah. He was a laid-back and loving person. He was also loved by his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.

Harold will be forever cherished and remembered by his wife: Kimberly Wilson; his son: Elijah Wilson both of Fort Smith; his four brothers: Elliott Wilson, Robert (LaTonya) Wilson both of St. Cloud, FL, Juan Ellingburg of Kissimmee, FL and Sam Green of Hot Springs, AR; his six sisters: Victoria (Gerald) Nelson, Kathryn Wilson both of Fort Smith, Robin Wilson of Oakland, CA, Diane Mays of Fort Smith, Cassius Softley and Tawana Doyle both of Hot Springs, AR; an aunt: Diane Moore of Arizona and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. at New Covenant International Christian Center 4400 North N Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
