In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Card family. Ella’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Ella Jane Card.

Ella Jane Card was a gift from God on Monday, April 26, 1929 to the late Frank and Ruth (Neer) Gray, Sr in Walton, New York. She transitioned to take her heavenly rest on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is also preceded in death by her husband: Charles Card; her child: Ruth, and her siblings: Clayton, George, Mildred and Martha.


Ella was raised and educated in upstate New York. For the most part of her life, she was in New York. In 1973, she united in holy matrimony with Charles Card. They were blessed with three children: Dale, Barbara and Ruth. She was baptized at Springvale Open Door Church in Norwich, New York. Most of her life, she attended Pilgrim Holiness Christian Church. She moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas around 2011.


Ella was an awesome house-wife and she sincerely loved her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to all her family. Her family is truly appreciative to Legacy Health and Rehabilitation Center for the amazing amount of care she received for the short time she was there. She will be greatly missed by all who adored and treasured her in life.


Ella will be forever cherished by her son: Dale Drumheller of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her two daughters: Barbara (Kevin) Lord of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Sabrina Mackey of New York; her brother: Frank (Trudy) Gray, Jr. of Norwich, New York; her six grandchildren: Jeffery (Cori) Walley, David (Shasta) Stacey, Lisa Stacey (Jimmy ), Afred Stacey, Jr. (Katherine Cooper), Michael Stacey all of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Allan Walley of Bighamton, New York; her sixteen great-grandchildren: David, Jr., April, Angel, Cooper, Destiny, Zendraya, Rider, Alfred, Jr., Joshua, Jeffery, Jr., Jillian, Jaidan, Dustin, Dewayne, Dalton and Dakota; 2 great-great-grandchildren: Angelina and Aiden, a host of other family members and friends.
