Earnest Woods Sr., age 65, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away at Baptist Health Conway on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, after a battle with colon cancer lasting over three years. His devoted wife was with him at the time of his passing.
Earnest was born June 26 1959 in Oneida, AR. He was the son of the late Eddie Woods Sr & Azzie Lee (Taylor) Woods. Earnest attended school at Oneida and Barton High School. He obtained a CDL and worked for the City of Conway Street Dept until he retired. He also held various positions in Helena, Jonesboro, Batesville and Conway. He was a great provider and father.

Earnest found pleasure in reading his Bible, watching westerns, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He also had a fondness for firearms and well-kept, impressive vehicles, taking great pride in their pristine condition. Storytelling, especially about his past and childhood, was another of his enjoyments. He shared a love of sports, particularly Las Vegas Raiders football, with his two sons and grandson, remaining a devoted fan despite their often disappointing performance.
Earnest was a member of Palarm Missionary Baptist Church in Mayflower for more than 20 years. He attended faithfully until his health took a toll on his life. After that he continued to study the bible, devotions and pray with Rev Davenport and the church family. He was baptized at an early age under the late Sterling King at First Baptist Oneida.
Remaining to cherish Earnest’s memory are spouse, Doris Woods; daughter, Shanna (Patrick) Allen of Conway AR; sons, Demarkus Kareem (Amanda) Okoye of Jacksonville AR and Earnest Woods Jr of Conway AR.
