Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Curtis Clinton Doss, Sr. was born on August 3, 1928 in Springfield, Arkansas to Mattie and Curtis Doss. He departed this life on October 12, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mr. Curtis met and married Ruby West in 1951 and to this union seven children were born. He worked in construction for many years and retired from the Cement Mason Union in Detroit, Michigan. He enjoyed paying cards, especially bid whist. He was well known to his friends in the community.
Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie and Curtis Doss; his wife Ruby Doss; son, Curtis C. Doss, Jr.; daughter, Judy Doss; seven siblings, Freddie Donald, Sr., Henry Doss, Morris Doss, Pernice Davis, Ovine Clark, Sadie Harris, and Ella Jefferson.
Mr. Curtis leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Gail Jefferson; sons, Harry Doss, Larry Doss, Ronald Doss, David Doss, Paul Doss; sistersAlpha Mae Parker of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Theosia Johnson and Paletha Washington both of Springfield, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces who loved their “Uncle Curtis”, other family and friends.
Graveside celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020, 11:00am at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 728 Mt. Olive Rd., Plumerville, Arkansas.
