Clifford Credit was born on March 4, 1951, in Mayflower, Arkansas, to the late Sam and Naomi Credit. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Samuel L. Credit and Levern Credit. At an early age, Clifford accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life. He was a devoted member of Palarm Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Mayflower, Arkansas, where he worshiped faithfully.
Following his high school graduation, Clifford proudly answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force. He honorably served four years of active duty, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a lifelong sense of discipline, integrity, and pride in service.
Through the opportunities his military service afforded him, Clifford pursued higher education at Shorter College in Little Rock, Arkansas. He later began a long and dedicated career with Conway Corporation, earning the respect of colleagues as a reliable and diligent employee. His commitment and work ethic were evident throughout his 35 years of service before retiring in 2013. He would even give people a heads up if they were on his disconnect list.
Clifford was a loving and devoted father who found great joy in guiding and supporting his children. He valued wisdom, encouragement, and leading by example, always striving to provide steady direction in their lives. He cherished his role as father to Clifford Crenshaw of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Cedric Crenshaw of Conway, Arkansas; Eric Crenshaw of Conway, Arkansas; Denise Crenshaw of Atlanta, Georgia; Saisha Fuller of Conway, Arkansas; and Jasmine Credit of Conway, Arkansas.
In his leisure time, Clifford appreciated life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed listening to the Blues, often finding comfort in its soulful melodies, and he was an enthusiastic fan of classic Western films.
He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Everlean Ponds and Ruby Credit, both of Conway, Arkansas; Ella M. Bryant of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Linda Credit of Los Angeles, California; Sheena Harris of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Elvin Credit of Mayflower, Arkansas; Robert Credit of Flint, Michigan; and Anthony Credit of Little Rock, Arkansas. He is also lovingly remembered by six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Clifford Credit will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his deep love for God and family, his honorable service to his country, and the calm guidance he offered to all who knew him. His legacy endures in the many lives he touched and the memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Veasley Funeral Home.
Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, 11:00am at Palarm Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 793 AR-365, Mayflower, Arkansas 72106.
Committal service and final resting place will be held, at Palarm Chapel Cemetery, 93 White City Rd., Mayflower, Arkansas 72106.
