In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Christian family. Charles’ earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Charles Christian.

Charles Thomas Christian was born on Monday, May 16, 1949 to the late C. J. and Rosie Mae (Norwood) Christian in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was called to take his eternal rest on Sunday, November 8, 2020.

Charles accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Mission Point Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of the late Pastor Council. He attended Howard Elementary and Lincoln High Schools. He was active in the Band and an Honor Student. He was a graduate of the class of 1966 from Lincoln High School. He also attended Westark Community College (University of Arkansas at Fort Smith).

Charles married Wyonia Gail Foremen on May 18, 1990. He was a good cook and loved hanging out with his friends. His specialty was preparing BBQ for families in the community for July 4th. Throughout his life, he worked as a brick mason with his father, Apple Bee’s (short-order cook), Kay Roger’s Park (worked during the fair) and OK Foods, Inc. (retired mail clerk).

Charles will be cherished by wife, Wyonia Christian of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sons, Rapheal Christian of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Thomas Christian of Nashville, Tennessee; three brothers Paul (Clarice) Christian of San Diego, California, James (Ruth Ann) Christian, and Wendell Christian all three of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a sister, Mary Moore of Kansas City, Kansas; five grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.


Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.


Celebration of life service will be held Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Center Point Cemetery in Redland, Oklahoma.
