In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Tone family. Carmelita’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Carmelita Tone.

Carmelita Tone was a gift from God on Thursday, November 13, 1941 to the late Jimmie Lois Parker and Buck Kilpatrick in Alma, Arkansas. She was called to take her eternal rest on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by a son: Maurice Whatley; one great-granddaughter: London Guy; one sister: Alice Gaynell Hill and one brother: Henry Parker, Jr.


Carmelita was baptized as a young age at Zion Missionary Baptist Church by the late Pastor Templeton. She was educated in the Alma Public Schools and she attended Lincoln High School in Fort Smith. She will be greatly missed by all knew and loved her.


Carmelita will always be cherished by her children: Sandra L. Kilpatrick of Alma, Arkansas, Jereen Thompson of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Owen Eugene Hill of Pomona, California; her five grandchildren: Sharee Robinson, Alan Robinson, Lauren Rozell (David), Michael Thompson and Demetria, five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Brenda Byrd of Omaha, Nebraska and Felicia Flake Brown (Keith), a host of other family members and friends.


Public walk-through will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.


Celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Zion Missionary Baptist Church 1115 Spring Street Alma, Arkansas 72921.
