In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Mingo family. Blanche’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Ms. Blanche Annette Mingo.

Blanche Annette Mingo was a blessing from God given on Thursday, September 5, 1963 to the late Johnnie and Gertrude (Price) Mingo in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She was their ninth child out of eleven Mingo children. She was also called by God to take her eternal rest on Friday, March 11, 2022 from Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Glen Mingo and a sister: Hattie Sutton.


Blanche grew up in Angie, Louisiana, where is had some fun memories. She graduated from Varnado High School in Varnado, Louisiana. She moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas and started working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, because she loved caring for others. She would take you into her home, regardless of your situation. She was like a mother to everyone. She would also take in her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and cousins and raise them as her own.


Blanche also worked for the Thomas Carnival and loved them as a second family. She was always the life of the party. If anyone ever called her, she was coming. She joined Midland Heights United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by all by adored and appreciated her in life.


Blanche will be forever remembered and cherished by her three children: Pershanda, Larry and Michael (Keena) Mingo all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her 14 grandchildren; her brother: Johnny Mingo of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her seven sisters: Eyvonn McGee and Ora Dumas both of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Mattie (Archie) McGowan of Angie, Louisiana, Geraldine Lewis of Hammond, Louisiana, Abigail (Desmon) Dorsey of Angie, Louisiana, Lea Ann Mingo of Bogalusa, Louisiana and Dorothy (Darrell) Maxberry of Van Buren, Arkansas and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.


Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary 611 North 9th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Midland Heights United Methodist Church 3500 North 6th Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.


Committal service and final resting place will be at Oak Cemetery Fort Smith, Arkansas.
