Averill James, Jr. (aka “AJ”) was born on Monday, June 17, 2002 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Averill James, Sr. and Avietta Boudreaux. God called him home to take his eternal rest on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Charlotte Gilbert and his uncle, Mitchell Johnson.

Averill hands down was one of the cutest and chunkiest babies you ever met. Even into adulthood, he continued to give the warmest hugs and kept a big smile. Our beloved AJ was beginning his senior year at Belle Point Center. He was excited about graduation, and an having a 3.90 grade point average. He was awarded a scholarship for college at any school in the state of Arkansas. Following an educational program in cosmetology during his junior year, he decided to pursue it further and considered it a career after high school. He also enjoyed art and was a very talented artist from a young age. He could draw anything his eyes could see or his mind could imagine.

Averill deeply enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a huge heart of gold. Averill especially loved making people laugh and helping those in need. Averill James, Jr. we were all blessed because we had the chance to know and love you. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

Averill will be lovingly remembered by his parents Avietta Boudreaux and Averill James, Sr.; his siblings, Jarouil Keelen, Avron Gerrill James, Aviyel Betty Bonita James, and Naverill Lonet Henry; his grandparents, Bonita James, Herbert Green, Sr. and Nathanel & Betty James, Sr.; his aunts and uncles, Shavonka (Stanley) Boudreaux-White, Roger Boudreaux, Herbert McDonald, Keevy McDonald, Joy Dupart, Tammy (Warnell) Lonet-Bijou, Natasha Johnson, Nathanel (Christina) James, Jr., Benjamin (Sarah) James, Latina James and Delphine James and host of cousins, many other relatives and an abundance of friends.
