In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Brewer family. Bobby’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Bobby Ashanti Brewer.

Bobby Ashanti Brewer was the fourth born of eleven children on Sunday, September 20, 1959 to the late Ollis Lee and Oretha (Thomas) Brewer in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is also preceded in death by a grandchild, Elijah White; a brother, Charles Brewer; two sisters, Janet Bell and Mary Brewer; and his best friend and running buddy, David Thompson.

Bobby attended the Fort Smith Public Schools. During his time in school, he played baseball, it was his favorite sport. Before he became disabled, he worked in the Poultry Industry and later became a cook at Westark Community College (University of Arkansas Fort Smith).

Bobby believed in family first and would do whatever he could for them. He was a loving, funny, and caring man. He had no problems being frank with you, he spoke straight from his heart, even if you did not want to hear it. His famous expressions were “I know I’m ugly, but I was born this way”, “That’s right”, and “Yeah”. Bobby will be genuinely missed by those who loved him.

Bobby leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life of 35 years, Kathie Thompson of Fort Smith, Arkansas; six daughters, Catrina Campbell of Pocola, Oklahoma, Monique Thompson, Crystal Thompson, Talisha (Terry) Freeman, Marquita Thompson, and Kiandra Thompson all five from Fort Smith, Arkansas; a son, Robert (LaTandra) Marks, Jr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Kaydance Oakley, Terry Freeman, Jr., Na’ Tya Flake, Keziya Holman, Kyrie Holman, I’ Keyah Thompson, Ty’ Breyah Thompson, Keyonce Thompson, and Keon Armington; three brothers, Anthony (Cindy), Michael, and Terrance Brewer all three of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four sisters, Mae Weaver, Deborah Fuller, Teresa Smith, and Tracy Brewer all four of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a host of nephews and nieces, many other relatives, and friends.
