In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Severns family. Bernadette's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Bernadette Severns.

Bernadette “Bernie” Severns, 71, passed on March 16, 2019 and is the child of the late James and Barbara Braley. She is also preceded in death by her uncle Oliver Healey.

Bernadette accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized along with her youngest daughter in Farmersville, California. She was a loving person with a spicy attitude who loved working puzzles. She also loved her cat, watching soap operas, and knitting.

Bernadette leaves to cherish her loving memories, two daughters, Melanie and Jaime Severns both of Sallisaw, OK; one sister Brenda Fuller of Portsmouth, NH; one brother, Charles Merton of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren, Phalecia Gragg (Carey) of Quinton, OK, Philip “Ezra” Easley (Kari) of Roland, OK, Barbara “Diamond” Carter (Trey) of Sallisaw, OK, James “Levi” Easley (Maddie) of Wilburton, Oklahoma, and James Daniel Murphy, IV of Sallisaw, OK; ten great-grandchildren, Kaliyah Ledbetter of Quinton, OK, Michael Howard of Roland, OK, Brancen and KaMaree Gragg both of Quinton, OK, Mason and Madison Hall both of Roland, OK, Kamden Christenberry of Sallisaw, OK, Braylen Gragg of Quinton, OK, Kendyll Carter, and expecting Emma Gail Carter both of Sallisaw, OK; three special friends, William “Bill” Gandee, Renila “Dottie” Nixon, and Mona George.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at First Assembly of God in Sallisaw, OK.
