In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Smith family. Floyd's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Floyd Henry Smith.

Henry Floyd Smith was born December 5, 1946 to Doris Keaton Smith and Henry Smith. Floyd confessed his life to Christ at an early age and served as ProTempore at Campbell Chapel AME in Fort Smith, Arkansas.


Floyd spent most of his life working on cars as a auto repair shop owner for many years. He was a employee at Reeder-Simco where he worked as a on call mechanic. He worked for Razorback Cab Company where he held many positions: Airport limo driver, lot attendant, mechanic, plumber, electrician, medical transportation driver and the list goes on.


Floyd's earthly soul transcended to the Heavens on Friday, May 4, 2018. He is preceded in death by his mother, Doris (Keaton Smith) Brown; father, Henry Smith; three sisters, Lillie Bell Smith, Lanie Ruth Smith, Leola Eckles; one brother, Charles Tilley; one grandson, Joe Willis Orr, Jr.; five great-grandsons.


Floyd leaves to cherish his loving memory, two daughters, Joy Jeffers of Conway, Arkansas, Latasha Simpson of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sons, Frederick Smith, Jr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Staff Sgt. Tedrick Lyons of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren, Brittney Howard, Brandi Hicks, TiShara Graham, Leyona Grayson and El'Tre Veon Jeffers all of Conway, Arkansas, Staff Sgt. Eddie Bagby of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Elijah Dalton, Julien Bailey and Zay-Leigh Rae Smith all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Tariq Lyons of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; eight great-grandchildren, Jonte Greenlaw, D'Tristian Smith, Aubrianna Hicks, Jeremiah Strickland, Johnsthans Hicks all of Conway, Arknasas, Kynli Bagby, Raylen Bagby, Cason Beau Bagby all of Fort Bragg, North Carolina and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and friends.


Visitation will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 from 6-7pm at Rowell-Parish Mortuary.


Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018, 1:00pm at Church for the World, 440 Windsor Dr., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.
