In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the McKinney family. Larry's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Brother Larry E. McKinney, Jr.

Larry Eugene McKinney, Jr. was born February 9, 1970 to the late Larry Eugene, Sr. and Charlotte McKinney in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Larry accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mission Point Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Jean Nixon. He later moved his membership to Unity Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. James B. Johnson and rededicated his life to Christ under the leadership of Rev. Theodore Dodson, where he was a member until God saw fit to call him home.

Larry McKinney, Jr. and Tasha Josenberger were married on February 9, 1997 and to this union five boys were born.

Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Shabazz "Tik" Simpson.

Larry leaves to cherish his loving memory, his loving wife of thirty years, Tasha McKinney; six sons, Julian, Stephen, Christian, Larry, III, Josiah, and Arron Jones; father, Charles McKinney; mother, Charlotte McKinney; father in-law, Hugh Josenberger; mother in-law Barbara Josenberger; two brother in-laws, Roy and Buddy and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

 

Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 from 6pm-7pm at Rowell-Parish Mortuary.

Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017, 11:00am at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 4225 High St., Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.
