Lehmin Agusta Perry, at the age of 90 answered the call of Jesus Christ on September 6, 2016 at 12:05am and transitioned this life assured for Heaven's home. Brother Perry was born July 11, 1926 in Morrilton, Arkansas and was the second born of three children to the late Jerry Myers Perry and Jennie Harden. Lehmin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Stewart Lehmin Agusta Perry was a faithful member of Bethel AME Church in Conway, Arkansas for many years until his health failed. He received his education from Hickory Hill High School in Conway County. After High School he enlisted in the United States Army where he received a World War II Victory Medal. After serving his country, he was employed by Ward Body Works (Am Tram) for over 20 years. He also worked 16 years for Counseling Associates of Arkansas. Lehmin has a deep passion and love for singing. He was president of the Central Arkansas Choir and Quartet Union for many years. He was a faithful member of the Golden Stars Quartet for over 60 years as a tenor singer. He also received an award for 13 years of dedicated service to the Central Arkansas Planning and Development District, Inc. Board of Directors. Lehmin was married to Hazel McFarlin for over 50 years. He is preceded in death by two sons, Leon Perry and Carl Howard; brother Elliott Perry. He leaves to cherish his loving memory a devoted wife; three sons, Jerry (Betty) Perry, Albert Howard both of Conway, Arkansas and Luther (Terri) Howard, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan; one daughter, Rosemary (John) Cummings of Conway, Arkansas; one sister Ivoe (Percy) Dean of Kansas City, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, best friend Lonnie Cunningham, sister-in-laws, Mary McFarlin and Mazella McFarlin. Visitation will be held Friday, September 16, 2016 from 6pm-8pm at Veasley Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016, 1:00pm at True Holiness Saints Center, 198 Hwy 286 East, Conway, Arkansas 72032. Interment will be held Monday, September 19, 2016, 12:00 noon at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, Arkansas 72120.
