In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Thomas family. Lenora's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Veasley Funeral Home. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Lenora Thomas.

Sis. Lenora Looper-Thomas was born in Conway, Arkansas on January 17, 1922, to the late Arthur and Lucy Tate-Looper. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Leo Looper. She attended and graduated from Pine Street High School in Conway, Arkansas.


Lenora was married to her adored husband, the late Deacon Murmon Thomas, for 51 years, and to this loving union, one son, Alvin Thomas was born. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful, devoted, and hard working member of Christ Temple Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A., Conway, Arkansas until her illness. Throughout her years of actively working in the church, she served as Sunday school teacher, church pianist, United Christian Women Ministries member, and church clerk. She was a woman of humility, class, and distinction and will long be remembered for her beautiful hats, sophistication, and sense of style. Until her death, she was the oldest member of Christ Temple.


Lenora also will not be forgotten by shoppers of Downtown Conway. She was employed by Lefler's, a women's clothing boutique in Conway, for more than 50 years. She was responsible for inventory, tagging, and checking in everything form clothing to jewelry for all Lefler's locations, including Conway, Russellville, Harrison, Batesville, and Searcy. For her 90th birthday, the Lefler family gave her a Pandora bracelet. One of the charms was a bee with a little, gold crown because she was lovingly know as the queen. She enjoyed her job, and she was loved by her coworkers and the Lefler family.


Lenora also was active in the community. She was a faithful member of the Pink Rose Art and Civic Club, where she served as secretary of the club for more than 60 years.


Her legacy will continue to live through her loving son and caretaker, Alvin Thomas; grandson, Herman Thomas (Donnalyn); granddaughter, Felicia Carr (Anthony); great grandsons, Deandre Vaughns, Chris Vaughns, Sr., and Anthony Carr, Jr.; great granddaughter Maya Thomas; and great-great grandsons, Chris Vaughns, Jr., Corvay Vaughns and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015, 11:00 am at Christ Temple Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A. located at 868 Willow St. Conway, Arkansas 72032. A viewing will take place one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be March 13, 2015 from noon to 5:30 pm at Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. and the family will recieve friends from 6pm - 8pm at Christ Temple Church of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A. Comittal service and final resting place will be that of the Robinson Cemetery in Conway, Arkansas.
