Betty Jean Bunch was blessed to the late Lit and Gertrude Dixon on Thursday, June 22, 1939 in Cedars, Oklahoma as their second child of nine children. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Willie Dixon, and a sister, Elise Bunch.

Betty accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Union Missionary Baptist Church; she was an active lifetime member. Her elementary education was at Dunbar in Cedars, and her junior and high school education was at Douglas in Spiro, Oklahoma. Before retiring, she worked at Whirlpool Refrigeration, Inc. for 23 years of service.

Betty married Vernon Bunch, Sr. on Sunday, July 7, 1974. They were actually connected to one another for over 65 years, for they were teenage boyfriend & girlfriend in high school. Over the many years of their union, they developed a love that was truly enduring and strong. They were best friends who would know what the other was thinking, they had an endless love for each other. Vernon would put his Betty first and was always spoiling his true love; she never went lacking for anything in life.

Betty was a family-oriented lady for she loved being around them and she always had a heart for all of them. She was a kind-hearted, loving, and generous person. She was also straight forward when she had to be, and she was an awesome motivator for young people (she treasured assisting them with building foundations in their lives). She was a very classy well-dressed “DIVA” of a lady; she never left the house not looking well-put-together (she even wore makeup to the gym). She enjoyed spending time shopping, travelling, gardening, watching television, and going to the gym.

Betty leaves to cherish her memories her only true love and husband of 46 years, Vernon Bunch, Sr. of Fort Coffee, Oklahoma; two sons, Vernon (Peggy) Bunch of Spiro, Oklahoma, and Fred (Paula) Cuble of Edmond, Oklahoma; four daughters, Tina (Frank) Gordon, Sr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Casandra (Gregg) Presley of Trenton, New Jersey, Rose (Alex) Delannoy of Helendale, California, and Delois (Charles) Williams of Tracy, California; a brother, Epluribus (Kathleen) Massey of Fort Coffee, Oklahoma; five sisters, Lucille Wilson of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Birta Wilson, Ann (Willie) Ricks, Darlene Carter, and Rosie Rawlings all four of Pocola, Oklahoma; one aunt, Francis Whitmore of Pocola, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of many other relatives and friends.
