In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the Jefferson family. Nathaniel’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mr. Nathaniel Jefferson.

Nathaniel Jefferson was born in Huntington, Arkansas on August 1, 1923 to the late Lemon Jefferson and Willie Blue. Also preceding him in death is his sister, Inez Keys, and a granddaughter, April Thomas.
Nathaniel accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and was baptized at an early age at the Greater Pilgrim Rest in Van Buren, Arkansas, his families church. Later in life, he moved to San Diego, California. Upon moving back home to the Van Buren area he went back to Greater Pilgrim Rest, and then as time passed; along with his sister, they joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Smith. After the loss of his sister, he joined Genesis Church of God in Christ. He was the Chairperson of the Deacons and the Landscaper at Genesis; he was a faithful man that believed God.
Nathaniel was a self-made man. He owned a landscaping service for many years in California and Arkansas. He was a sweet, mild-mannered man who loved children dearly. He would always give them candy and gifts on their birthdays. He loved watching sports and westerns. His favorite foods were cantaloupe and watermelon. His favorite line was always “Show Nugh”.
Nathaniel leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Elise (Samuel) Ray Harris of Fort Smith, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Delores Thomas of Fort Worth, Texas, Faith (Samuel) Stidwell of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Michael Thomas of Fort Smith, Arkansas; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-children, and a host of many relatives, and friends.
