In profound sadness, the staff of Veasley Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. want to express our sincere condolences to the McGill family. Patricia’s earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away." Be assured that in the days ahead you will surely gain strength from the memories of Mother Patricia Diane McGill.

On November 16, 1954 while living in Peno, Oklahoma, the late Tom and Daisy Poole welcomed their daughter, Patricia Diane McGill, to their family. Along with her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her daughter, Kaneisha Johnson; four sisters, Charlie Mae Logan, Shirley Vann, Be y Wilburn, and Donna Branley-Feble; and two brothers, Thomas and Robert Poole.


Patricia’s early education was in the Roland Public Schools in Roland, Oklahoma. Years later, after moving to Fort Smith, she obtained her GED. Patricia was a loving mother and a homemaker. One of her favorite pastimes in life was traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Patricia became a member of the Northside Church of God in Christ. She loved her church family just as much as she loved the Lord. She is now an eternal member of heaven and will be greatly missed by all who loved and treasured her.


Patricia leaves to cherish her loving memories, three sons, Brian D. Thomas of Kansas City, Missouri, Richard E. (Kineta) and Christopher J. Johnson both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sisters, Nancy Porter of Sacramento, California and Mary Turner of Norman, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.


Visitation will be held Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 3:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary, 611 North 9th Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901 | 479.782.9200.


Celebration of life service will be held Monday, December 2, 2019 11:00a.m. at Northside Church of God in Christ, 4420 Kelly Hwy Fort Smith, Arkansas 72904.


Committal service and final resting place will be held at Oak Cemetery, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
