David's earthly temple is now resting in the care of Rowell-Parish Mortuary. Revelations 21:4 says "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall their be anymore pain, for the former things are passed away." David Allen Thompson, 55, of Fort Smith, Arkansas died on Friday, May 10, 2019 in a local hospital. He was born to Martha (Enoch) and the late Charles Thompson on November 1, 1963 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

 

David is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Lucille (Taylor) Enoch; his paternal grandparents, Linzy and Oma (Dickens) Thompson.

 

David married Dawn Tyson on June 29, 2007.

 

David was a graduate of Northside High School and University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. He worked for Fort Chaffee Systems and Whirlpool for many years.

 

David leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Dawn (Tyson) Thompson; three sons, Mychael (Rayne) Thompson of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Dav-Voughn (Naoko) Thompson, stationed in Japan, and Jawan Thompson of Clarkville, Tennessee; four step-daughters, Brandece (Ben) King, Kendra Tyson, Evelyn (Kurtis) Stewart, and Jamelyn (Ja’Vohn) Canady; his mother, Martha Thompson; one brother, Charles (Stephanie) Thompson, Jr., all of Fort Smith, Arkansas; six sisters, Peggy Dickson of Clovis, New Mexico, Marion (Wendell) Givance, Kathie Thompson, Rebecca Johnson, Mabel (Stevie) Cannon, and Clarissa Tucker, all of Fort Smith, Arkansas, 13 grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

 

Visitation will be Friday, May 17, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Rowell-Parish Mortuary.

 

Celebration of life service will be held Saturday May 18, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church 4503 Young Street Fort Smith, Arkansas 72901.

 

Committal service and final resting place will be held at Forest Park Cemetery Fort Smith, Arkansas.
