Anthony Maurice Carter, Sr. was born on May 31, 1969 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late Billye Jo and Donald Eugene Carter, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald E. Carter, Jr. and a niece, Ayanna Carter.

Anthony was baptized at an early age at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church. During his youth, he played baseball and football. His early childhood education was at the Immaculate Conception. He finished his education in the Fort Smith Public School District and graduated from Nothside High School in 1987. He worked at Harp's Grocery Store and the Frisco Station. Later he went on to receive his degree as a Respiratory Therapist from the College of the Ozarks in Ozark, Arkansas. He started his life-long career as a respiratory therapist at Sparks and then later moved to Baptist Health-Van Buren (Crawford County Memorial Hospital) where he was a member of the Respiratory Therapist Association. Over his many years working, he received several awards in Respiratory Critical Care.

Anthony was a kind hearted person who would give his last to anyone. He was a strong and caring man that loved his family dearly. He also loved telling jokes and laughter; he would even laugh at his own jokes. He was a dedicated family man, and he supported his three children in every aspect of their lives to show his love for them. Once his grandchildren came along, he found a greater love in life, and that was being a grandfather. He was crazy about his four grandchildren.

Anthony leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Angela Dawn Carter of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sons, Anthony Maurice Carter, Jr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Ian Geoffrey Carter of Springfield, Missouri; a daughter, Sydney Grace Carter of Little Rock, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Ava Grace, Aubree Billye Jo, Lilah Grace, and Kayeence Rein Carter; three sisters, Donice (John) Andrews of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Rev. Starla Smith of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Akua Carter of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two brothers, Ronald (Kim) Carter of Kansas City, Missouri and Jermaine Carlos Jarrett-Carter of Houston, Texas, and a host of nephews, nieces, many other relatives and friends.
